Herb Bruce "Herbicide"

When they were done, there was nothing left.
Herb Bruce, known to insiders as "Sybil", had subpoenaed his unscrupulous friends to write and record.
All styles were molested...
Musical norms were battered and abused...
Trombonistic traditions were assaulted...
...It was HERBICIDE!

Herbicide is an album that demonstrates the musical versatility and variety of Herb Bruce.  Many of the areas best players, along with many longtime friends, have come together to produce this musical showcase from Herb.

Herb Bruce "Heaven and Earth"

Not too long ago, a couple of musicians were standing at the back of the hall at a jazz concert--two musicians who have played with Herb Bruce hundreds of times. Herb was in the middle of a solo, and one of the musicians, whom you would think would be blasé about him by this time, was anything but. He turned, shaking his head to the other and simply said, "God, can Herb ever play." Can he ever.

Pepper And Fine Thyme "No More Blues"

Vocalist Paulette Pepper's new recording is the blond beauty's crowning achievement to date.  On this recording, produced by Herb Bruce, she establishes herself as a sophisticated songstress in total command of her material. Her most telling performances come on "I Love Being Here With You" and "Happiness Is Just A Thing Called Joe", embellished with a gorgeous solo by Herb, bringing back instant memories of Bill Harris' chorus on Woody Herman's recording. Pepper has taken her career to a new level.

Herb Bruce "Everlasting Love"

As commercial musicians, it is always a challenge to wed the disciplines of secular and sacred styles. By choosing material carefully, as with spirituals and folk songs, a common audience can be reached. We feel that this set of songs manages to blend a cross section of styles, including a few pop standards, and convey a message of love and hope.  Everlasting Love is Herb's first solo CD. It is a compilation of songs in a pop setting with some of Herb's favorite musicians.  This album was originally released in Great Britain in 1996. We thought they were sold out until we discovered a few owned by a US distributor. We acquired them and now happily have some  to post on the website.

We're delighted to be able to offer them.
